  • Before we can even spell our own names, people in the UK are sorted into two camps: the 7% of us will go on to represent 65% of judges, 44% of politicians, and 34% of FTSE 350 CEOs - and those of us who won’t.

  • Those of us who won’t are the 93% of the population. The ones who went to state school.

  • It’s time to change the narrative, and we’d like you to join us. We’re inviting you to open doors, shatter ceilings and forge lifelong connections that defy the odds and make our society better for the next generation. 

    We want you to be part of our network: the UK’s least exclusive members’ club.

  • We have been on a mission to change that narrative for the last three years. Working alongside incredible employer partners, we have supported state educated students at universities from all corners of the UK to secure their dream graduate jobs.

  • But, in doing so, we missed a crucial piece of the puzzle. For those of us who do break into top professions, navigating our careers comes with its own set of challenges.

    In a report authored by the Bridge Group, it found that employees from lower socioeconomic backgrounds in the financial services take 25% longer to progress through the ranks, despite no evidence of poorer performance.

  • This isn’t about a lack of talent. It’s about something else. The strength and size of your professional network. As the age old saying goes - it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.

  • And for too long, access to influential networks of advice and support has been restricted to a privileged few.

HOW IT WORKS

Its a simple equation, one space for you = one space for a student.

Our professional network operates a pay it forward model.

With each membership, you're not only investing in your own professional growth but also creating meaningful opportunities for state educated university students.

This means that 50% of the proceeds from each professional membership will be paid forward to cover the cost of one of our student members. The remaining 50% of the membership cost is reinvested in the professionals network.

THE PROFESSIONALS PLATFORM

Professional members will have access to our online clubhouse, where they will be able to connect with fellow state-educated professionals across the UK. Members of our Slack-based community will receive exclusive access to upcoming events, career advice, and volunteering opportunities.

Our professional members will get priority access to our flagship events. Whether it’s coffee mornings, live podcasts, panels with thought leaders, surround yourself with a supportive community that not only encourages your professional achievements but also celebrates your personal milestones. OUR MENTORSHIP ECOSYSTEM

We’ve created a supportive community for those without networks. We’re mobilising a powerful knowledge sharing ecosystem by pairing experienced professionals with young professionals, and young professionals with student members. This allows you to pay forward the support and insights you’ve received throughout your career - social mobility, supercharged.

BUILDING THE UK’S LEAST EXCLUSIVE NETWORK

In order to build the UK’s least exclusive network, we need to make our memberships affordable for everyone. That’s why it only costs professionals £9.30 a month to become a member. That’s less than you’d pay for lunch.

However, we recognise that everyone's circumstances are different. That’s why we’re offering a number of subsidised memberships to support new graduates, those that are currently unemployed, and those who are struggling with the cost of living crisis. If this is you, then you can apply for a sponsored place using the button below - no questions asked.

You can pay monthly or annually - it’s up to you. You can even ask your employer to expense your membership using your L&D budget. This is a professional network after all.

  • We asked you! Everything we do at The 93% Club is led by social science and product research. Before we decided to commit to building 93% Professionals, we went and asked thousands of you whether you’d like to join us. The answer was a resounding yes!

  • We asked thousands of you what you’d like to see from 93% Professionals and paired these answers with the social science surrounding belonging, career progression and access to professions. These benefits have been crafted with you AND social mobility in mind.

  • Absolutely! 93% Professionals has been designed to capture both our recent graduates and those professionals who are part of the 93% but have never had the opportunity to join our network.

  • Mentorship is optional, but it is encouraged. Mentorship and paying forward our knowledge to the next generation is one of the key levers we pull to deliver our impact. However, we know that us professionals have a lot on our plate already, so being a mentor is completely optional. We welcome you to join our community either way!

  • Unfortunately not, but for good reason. When we asked you how often you’d like us to host events, the most popular response was on a quarterly basis. Professionals’ calendars are pretty packed already, and we want to make sure the time you do commit to attending our events is worthwhile. We value your time and we want to deliver high-quality events with great turnouts.

  • Paying for your membership helps us to support our student members! The 93% Club is a proud not-for-profit that is free for students. We are funded by our professional members and corporate partners. 100% of our profits are reinvested into delivering our vision - to create a world where the school you attend does not dictate where you end up in life. We are not backed by large investors or grant funders, and so almost all of the money we generate to support our student members is through our trading activities. For that reason, we cannot offer a completely free membership for professionals (for now!).
