Linklaters and Norton Rose Fulbright back their state-educated employees by joining 93% Professionals.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Global law firms Linklaters and Norton Rose Fulbright have joined 93% Professionals as corporate members, reinforcing their commitment to supporting employees from state-educated backgrounds.

The two firms join founding member Slaughter and May, bringing the total number of City law firms offering 93% Professionals as a staff benefit to three.

As corporate members, Linklaters and Norton Rose Fulbright will join Slaughter and May in providing their employees access to a ready-made network of state-educated peers invested in one another’s success.

The 93% Professionals network is designed to open the doors to new business, supercharge soft skills development, and make it easier to support the next generation of state-educated talent.

Working with the Club, the three firms are taking the lead in improving the workplace experience for state-educated employees, ensuring they don’t just get in but get on at every stage of their careers.

Paul Lewis, Firmwide Managing Partner at Linklaters, said: “The importance of getting out there, networking and making connections in business cannot be understated. It can open doors and lead to opportunities you might not otherwise have had access to. Having had no exposure to the corporate world when I was starting out I know just how difficult it can be. Delighted we’re partnering with the 93% Professionals network – wish it had been around when I was in the early stages of my career!”

Peter Scott, Global Managing Partner and Managing Partner, Europe, Middle East and Asia at Norton Rose Fulbright, commented: “We‘re excited to build upon our existing social mobility programme by joining the 93% Club. This will provide another avenue for our colleagues to connect further with both professionals and students from state-educated backgrounds. Connectivity and relationship-building throughout the course of your professional career is incredibly valuable and this platform provides a great forum for this.”

Andrew Jolly, Head of Corporate Group at Slaughter and May, said: “We are proud to continue our founding partnership with 93% Professionals, reaffirming our commitment to reduce inequalities in the legal sector, and delighted that Linklaters and Norton Rose Fulbright have also now joined.  We aim to ensure that everyone, no matter their background, can access opportunities to enter the profession and thrive throughout their careers."

Sophie Pender, Founder of The 93% Club, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Linklaters and Norton Rose Fulbright to 93% Professionals. Their backing strengthens our mission to make sure state-educated employees have the networks and opportunities they need to succeed in professional services.”
